december travel bucket list on #igtravelthursday

Xmas decor

Happy #IGTravelThursday again. Have you realised that it’s only some five plus weeks until the year changes once again? If feels to me that only yesterday it was summer and now we are already starting to decorate for Christmas and shop for presents. We have also been busy here at home – trying to plan the year-end travels, and have been excitedly looking for inspirations from fellow travellers – and then checking if we could find some reasonably priced tickets…

We’ve come up with a plan that gives us some adventure and hopefully northern lights in Iceland, and then some history, warm weather and amazing food (says the husband from experience) in Israel – I guess December is in terms of the alphabet game is an “I” month for us.

In between the travels I am trying to plan some local travel with Christmas theme, since we haven’t really done Christmassy things for years, or rather ever here in England. I’ve had harder time finding good pictures (other than people’s selfies) in IG, so I had to turn into good old Internet search and friends for recommendations, and definitely got some good stuff too.

So here is my December bucket list, to which I hope to get some new additions and recommendations still from you, my readers and fellow travel Instagrammers…

Xmas Bucket List

Now I would love to hear what your plans are for December and the fast approaching holidays season: exotic travel to really faraway places, more local travel, or a stay-cation near home while visiting some cool local events?

Xmas 2012 in Kuala Lumpur

Last year we spent the Christmas break in Bali and Kuala Lumpur, and the year before we still lived in California and went to Lake Tahoe. We also had a good time visiting the (locally) famous Palo Alto’s Christmas Tree Lane {see my old post here}  and the Global Winter Wonderland in San Jose {see my old post here}. Oh those lovely memories…

Anyway, I’ve already kicked off the Winter season with my first bits of decor, as well as the first mug of mulled wine and mince pies, so suitably the first Christmas-themed event will be our children’s school Christmas Fayre this weekend – so expect some Christmas-themed photos this weekend…
