travel inspiration from chilean 120

The road less travelled, or not, from San Jose to Helsinki via Chi town. On my transatlantic flight I got to learn about this Chilean wine, it was pretty full and nice, but more importantly I loved the story of Santa Rita 120. “According to legend, 120 patriots, exhausted after a long, hard battle during the fight for Chile’s independence, reached the land belonging to Santa Rita. On that fateful night in 1814, these forces of liberty found refuge in the estate cellars. Today, within these same cellars, our award-winning 120 wines are crafted to honor their heroic character.” Beautiful legend and way to honor those heroes!

The journey itself was also beautiful (although a bit foggy everywhere!) – watching the dawn break over Silicon Valley and then enjoy the colours of fall in Chicago. Soaring above the clouds and watching yet another sunset some 16 hours later while approaching otherwise rather cold (+4c/40F) and grey Finland. The journey is as you make it to be, and for me it was a time to relax with my Kindle and a rom-com movie. Perfect me-time.
