photo journey to coastal marche region in italy
Ciao from Italy. The past few days I’ve been exploring an Italian region, which is less known (at least for me) called Marche, on the Adriatic coast side – just south of San Marino and North of Rome.
What makes Marche special from many other regions is that it has a little bit of everything: beautiful coast with sandy beaches as well as rugged areas, rolling hills where wine grows as well as taller mountains. One can do sports from caving and biking to kitesurfing and sailing, or just stop and smell the flowers and enjoy local seafood and other delicatessen.
Culture is not forgotten here either – one can enjoy the season of local opera, art exhibitions, sporting events and even Octoberfest the Italian way – something for everyone for sure. One should also mention the great outlet malls in the regions – especially the local specialty of artisan shoes.
Marche is an excellent area to combine with a bustling city location such as Rome or Florence nearby and other interesting places such as the miniature country of San Marino lies just north of the border of this region. I spent here less than three days and wanted to share some of my enticing moments with you.
