old meets new on mountaintop

In our tour of the Valencia’s Mastraz historic mountain region we made a stop in Ares del Maestre, a little mountain village located nearly 5000 ft (1500m) above the sea level. A tiny little place yet so much history was present everywhere. Plus amazing views of the valleys around this mountain. What I also found interesting was how they had integrated old with new seamlessly.

Just look at this fashionably modern entrance to an ancient cave in the middle of the village, or the streamlined metal chairs placed in the lookout corner. It was the perfect place for a little snack and relaxation!
