new year’s resolutions swapped to goals

I don’t tend to do new year’s resolutions any longer as there have been those years when I quite didn’t achieve them, so I just strive to reach some goals along the year. And this year they are nothing unusual to start with – i am working hard towards finally getting that sofa (or almost any sofa should I say) to our living room and I’d like to exercise more, with and without the whole family. A friend is also proposing running a half-marathon, but I have some reservations for that since I am not supposed to run any more…

We certainly had a good start for this year yesterday as we did a lovely family hike of 2.5 miles (in Almaden Quicksilver park, which was a first visit for us and so worth it), of which we had to carry the twins for the last 1/3 mile or so – talk about weight training there…. It was a lovely sunny day – and warm too with 72F (22c) so we were feeling happy and bouncy, despite having a very steep climb up followed by another one down. Tough on those poor knees of mine! Hope you all had a good start for the year too!
