la fondue restaurant in saratoga (ca) in review
I had a pleasure of visiting La Fondue restaurant in Saratoga (CA) the past weekend, and it certainly was an experience. Now I have never had a fondue outside Switzerland so I have no good point of comparison, but I would rank this place pretty well.
We had what most people probably have there – the full menu of 4 courses – starting with cheese fondue, followed by a large salad, then the actual meat fondue and finally the chocolate fondue. What amazed me the most was the variety of choice – there were about 30 meats and sea foods on offer with more unusual ones like shark, llama, alligator and kangaroo to choose from. The same goes with the cheese choices and the dessert platter was topped with fruit, pastries and even cream cheese balls. Someone really had imagination!
The interior of the restaurant is also intriguing – here French style meets the Swiss chalet and throws in the James Bond accents and even soma Africa too (see the wallpaper and the machine gun lamps). All in all a great experience but certainly not a cheap one.
