intriguing consignments
I must admit that the Bay Area (San Fran excluded) does not have too many inspiring furniture store. I have gotten the most joy out of the consignments stores by far. These stores aren’t typical European ones, as they do not only sell old and used items but also some new ones.
The great thing is that the stock changes constantly and unique items appear every now and then. Today I visited a consignment store in Mountain View and picked these pieces as the most interesting ones:
This leather trunk dresser reminds me of those old Louis Vuitton travel trunks
A pair of eye-catching candle holders or a wooden bucket
The colours of this window frame remind me of old French farms. Enormous rustic bird cage
Mexican table and chairs made of wood and pigskin. Not quite my style but pigskin is a new material for me in chairs (I think..)
Some nice Oriental pieces
A lovely distressed bookshelf
A contemporary leather chaise – and very comfortable too. To go with the style a set of modern nesting tables with crocodile-style leather(ette?) top
Accessories – candelabra and wheelbarrow
and some outdoor pieces too – distressed shelving unit
