how not to decorate? even if it’s a miami mega-mansion
I just managed to notice the “The World’s Most Expensive Party House” 5-Star Island built my Thomas Kramer in the real housewife clip and I though: is this house for real? At 29 000 sq ft (2700m2) it certainly is huge, has an interesting Spanish mock-hacienda -type exterior and unbeatable location on the fashionable Star Island in Miami. But the interior! I would book a tour to take a look at it like I have done for other “famous” estates, but paying thousands to stay in one of these rooms – don’t think so.
It makes me think that someone let Michael Jackson, Britney Spears ad Christina Aquilera loose on this house – each putting their style stamps on each room. (no offence mean here- at least they all have a certain style or idea in their decor, and this house seems to have put it all and few others all mixed together).
I really think that my 6-year old daughter would do better jobs decorating a house. She would be more consistent and likely to avoid stuffed dogs, plastic giraffe heads and all those pink angels.
Maybe it is meant to be kitsch, but still… Gigantic giraffe head, stuffed first pet dog at the entrance (if this really was his childhood dog how on earth did he manage to persuade his parents to stuff it instead of laying it to rest?)
The house is at its best from the outside and the most consistent room in the house would be – surprisingly the gym!
Btw, the house is also on the market, so if you love this kind of opulent style the price tag is nearly $50 million.
Guest house with bright colour walls mixed with Indian and east-Asian styles with heavy wooden chests, 80s floral quilts, not to forget the African inspirations…what was the idea here? Oh yes, and the dinosaurs outside…
Views of the main house where Grecian style meets the pole dancers in Versailles and pink angel excess, while practising roleplay with mr gorilla and little piggies and admiring those zillion cluttering copper pots in the bar? There is a hint of Goth Versace style, but it certainly is killed with the plastic giraffe head and the harlequin hanging from the inside atrium window… And it looks like there is the sportsman’s/rapper’s bedroom with gigantic round bed, mega-screen and massaging games chair too? These items more often seen in the MTVs Crib series I think.
I almost didn’t notice the Louis 15th style interior in the red lounge accented by Chinese-writing rug and an African warrior (?). Maybe I just don’t have any sense of how to mix styles but please tell me the name of the designer of this place – I would not hire the person (probably could not afford it either) but I would love to see other as “stylish” houses (s)he has created!
