hogan’s mock-tudor fail in florida finally sells

Now I am a true confessed fan of old English houses, bar one style – the Tudor one. This is because they tend to have just too many beams and low ceilings, and I more of a fan of light and high ceilings. If there is something that I like even less, it is the mock-Tudor houses – I mean if you are going to build new, why typically choose to do low ceilings and darkness in your new house? I normally associate Tudor with cozy because of those attributes…

I remember seeing this gigantic house of 17000+ sq ft owned by Hulk Hogan in Florida in the family’s TV show and I was thinking that if you are going to build a mock-Tudor, you need to choose at least a suitable climate for it; it just does not look right surrounded by palm trees and part-tropical weather! But also, unlike the cozy, real Tudor house this actually is plagued by grandness, which makes it look like one of the bedrooms is located in a gigantic hallway. Sweet dreams in the hall- I think not…

Maybe that is the reason Hogan had to drop the astonishing asking price of $25 M to a  mere $6.2M? It just does not feel like the right house for the location…And surprisingly, celebrities seem to often make huge losses with their frequent house-dealings, one would think that their money could buy some good advice too…

So any other opinions on this house: oversized mock-Tudor, is it too big and also too wrong for Florida weather, or not???
