hello from israel on #igtravelthursday

Hello from Israel. I’ve been so busy exploring and touring from dusk ’til dawn (and then some more as it gets dark pretty early) and I’ve been having a great time. I would definitely recommend to visit Israel. The only issue I’ve had by far is accessing the Internet, which is not such a big deal, except for being able to write my posts and share my IG photos…

Tel Aviv beaches

Anyway, I’ll be doing my Israel in 4 1/2 days post next week, so you’ll hear all about my hikes, the Dead Sea, Tel Aviv, Bethlehem, Jerusalem and much more. There is so much history and nature – I love especially the desert (I studied geology at the university so the rocks, minerals and soils still rock…) and those ancient cities they have excavated.

Israel breakfast

I also have to mention the food – so fresh and so good. It’s a lovely mix of different Mediterranean cuisines and I just can’t get enough: I’ve had typical Israeli, Jordanian and Lebanese dishes – and the more European ones with a local twist in them.If you come here for a visit you should also try local wines: my favourite is currently a red called Judean Hills.

Tel Aviv

We’ve been very lucky on this trip in terms of everything: the weather’s been mild and sunny (taking into account that it actually snowed here some 2-3 weeks ago!), there are not many tourists around since January is in between all large religious holidays – so no queues on the roads on in major sights, there is space in restaurants and also the souks and flea markets are less crowded. And the sales are also going on here…

Road by Dead Sea

But enough said, it’s time to go for a few drinks and meet some friends for another tasty dinner. Happy weekend to you all.

You can see below more of my Instagram photos from this trip to Israel. Enjoy!
