finnish birthday feelings
Today was the birthday of miss Anaïs and we celebrated it with a Finnish homemade cake (but with an American twist since it had vanilla frosting on top). Typical cake is made of a simple base of sugar, egg and flour and filled with whipped cream and fruit – in our case banana, peaches and pineapple, and strawberries on top.
Anaïs had requested (sparkling) flowers and sparkling apple cider (non-alcoholic!) for her birthday and participated in the design of her table setup too. Pastels and some glitter typical to little girls. It was a fun party for the whole family!
Setting the table with presents for younger siblings too
Birthday girl adding some glitter confetti
Almost ready. We started by blowing the candle in the cake, then presents were opened and finally cake was cut and drinks served. Traditional coffee and home-made buns was missing from the table this time. There was still some home-made Bundt cake but most of it disappeared mysteriously the night before
Plenty of different types of sweets on this special day
Chocolate cherries
That sparkling apple cider
Pink and white tulips with a sparkling butterfly
Twins got also these lovely brooms as they always want to clean the house with mom
One more time: Happy Birthday to you Anaïs. Hugs & kisses!!
