going local: down the memory lane to hever castle in kent

Hever Castle

Hever Castle in SouthEast England is a perfect destination on a warm summer day. Historically the place is known of being the childhood home of Anne Boleyn (from the movie “The Other Boleyn Girl”), but there is so much more to the place than just Anne Boleyn.

Hever Castle

You can visit the majestic castle with a double moat on 125 acres, exhibitions, large gardens (both formal and in natural state), enjoy cream tea under willows while overlooking the lake or the little ponds. There is also a maze to explore, a water maze for kids – which is a lot of fun on a sunny day,  playgrounds and of course a lovely little shop for quintessential English goods.

Hever Castle

I would highly recommended  visiting Hever if you ever find yourself in that neighbourhood – it is located in the village of Hever in Kent, between Sevenoaks East Grinstead.
