contemporary living in renovated wooden villa

I like the way this family has renovated their 100-year-old wooden villa. Although some of the rooms are rather small and have pitched ceilings, their colour scheme and decoration makes them all look airy and spacious.

My favourite room is the one with a sleeping loft they have build between the rafters in the ceiling -a true space savings solution that allows the rest of the room to be utilised as a play and study zone. Surprisingly, that room still looks fresh despite the black-painted walls and the little light string following the contour of the ceiling is great.
