calm family time in lake tahoe and marriott grand residence before christmas

it’s finally time for the family to quiet down and relax – with the first ever trip to Lake Tahoe. Snow or no snow it just looks breathtaking being surrounded by the majestic mountains and that beautiful lake!

We are ready to skate, swim outside (in the heated pool should I add, not in the freezing lake although some people especially in Finland make holes in the ice and dip in every day), hike and take some skiing lessons… So, let the fun begin!

Cute downtown decor in South Lake Tahoe – Christmas is everywhere

Welcoming entrance to the Marriott Grand Residences in Lake Tahoe. We had a family room booked there with a separate bedroom from the kitchen and living room, and it was very handy. We also loved the fireplace and the little window seat type of arrangement next to it – just perfect for relaxing.

The resort is perfectly located to the slopes and have nice amenities such as a heated outdoor pool and a hot tub plus a lovely ice rink at wintertime. The food was tasty and the interior decor was very festive and cozy, very unlike some larger resorts tend to be.

Kids happily making themselves at home at the hotel, we just loved the fireplace in the evening, especially with a glass of wine and some tapas once the kids were fast asleep!
