year of the rabbit celebrations

Happy year of the rabbit everyone. Chinese New Year celebrations are still ongoing, and our family spent today a good five hours celebrating at our daughter’s school here in Silicon Valley – the Yew Chung International School. A lot of lovely traditional singing and dancing performances from the children as well as opera singing, martial arts and fierce bidding in the auctions for cute things made by each class.

Of course a traditional feast of good Chinese foods – pork, duck, chicken… and sweets was on the programme also. This party was a new, inspiring experience for the whole family. And to top if off we manage to come home with some nice items from the silent auctions.
