what room are you?
My friend asked me that question. She said she would pick a library and had the perfect example in mind already – the High Gloss Library displayed here by House Beautiful.
This room was created by designer Todd Klein using high gloss paint colours. There is also the traditional British Chesterfield Sofa in tan leather, and one can get a glimpse of the delicious stripy and floral patterns on cushions and other chairs in the room.
This question made me really think what room would I be and ultimately what would be the style. And then I realised that the outdoor garden room is the answer! Given the opportunity, and weather permitting I would just spend all day outside potting in the garden, reading my books or lounging by the pool (provided that we had one). So here’s a selection of inspirational garden rooms for me with the most common theme being the element of water and beautiful views…Enjoy!
Multi-level black and white theme with shades of greens both from nature and fabrics thrown in the mix. The views from these hill terraces must be magnificent.
This palatial setting makes me dream of a trip to Tuscany or Provence – I can almost smell the lavender when I close my eyes.
Blue and while gives me the feeling of Scandinavian simplicity and lake views even thought he furniture is not white and the fabrics are a bit more of Laura Ashley than the Nordic stripes. I like how the ceiling has been painted baby blue.
The ultimate splendor. Oh those columns, plush cushions, wind blowing the curtains. Sipping champagne while overlooking the azure sea and the buzzing village underneath. Tickets to Capri please – I want to flee today’s grey fogginess and find my dream palazzo!!
So pretty in pink and white. Watching the sun set from the roof terrace, light reflecting in the water, candles flickering, Buddha Bar dinnertime collection playing from the hidden speakers. The ultimate relaxation.
Not a garden room but room in the garden. Who can resist the charm of old French? And all those shades of green and that lovely topiary…
Fresh east coast seaside look. I just can’t get enough of these fabrics in shades of green and wicker furniture.
Thank you House Beautiful for these refreshing mind candies!!
So what room are you and what would does your dream space look like?
