unique cantilevered glass house
I like this feature on Wall Street Journal (link to full feature& photos) about a cantilevered glass house in Berkshires. It was designed by Boston architect Warren Schwartz for his family as a vacation home. The house is a rectangular made of glass and steel, sloping down a hill before cantilevering for 45 feet (14m).
But it is not only the exterior that is unique in this house – all bedrooms are separated by walls of frosted glass from the hallway and the translucent plastic doors slide away to reveal en-suite bathrooms. This million dollar home got inspiration from a family trip to the Grand Canyon, where they had stood at the precipice of a cliff watching the sun rise. Very unique indeed.
