twin party – double the fun
Our twins had their birthday party a little while ago, and since we did a family thing for miss Anaïs, we obviously had to something for the twins too. So we had a little cake and treats just for the five of us, and then a little garden party for some friends (where the twins got so overwhelmed that they kept hiding most of the party…)
We were blessed to have a warm sunny day for the party, which was great since we had plenty of bubbly for the older guests cooling in out buckets. Garden parties are always fun even if the garden is a small city one!
Family party with yogurt-fruit cake, cupcakes and some little treats
Since the twins are only two they haven’t really gotten many sweets yet, so the Pez was a gigantic success. Not hard to tell who their favourites are – Kitty, Dora and Thomas. I find it somewhat weird since we don’t watch TV, so the influence must come from the friends and the real world (such as living close to train tracks)
Preparing for the garden party – little snacks done
With twins the party colours are hard to choose – brown with multicoloured pattern is sort of both here and there…
I thought that these little colourful buckets were perfect for cutleries
Side salad for the party. We added to the salad mix some leaves from our own garden. I was wondering if it still qualifies for organic since we live in the city which isn’t the most ideal place for growing food certainly
Some pink and blue and more gender-neutral yellow and green treats too
Some tapas coming out of the oven
Getting ready for the party
Of course the theme for the party called for tapas
In a multi-lingual family the cake texts take turns – this time in Spanish with a tres leches cake filled with fresh strawberries. That was very tasty indeed!
When the age of the children varied between 1 and 15 the only way to go is named bags with very different contents. Luckily Target had these fabulous Thomas and Kitty themed dollar-finds at the time. Since the guests were different from the previous party I went again for the reusable bags – plenty of Kitty there as well as those same cute animal bags as before…
