the monthly furniture rally is here again
It seems that every month I am rearranging the little furniture we have in the house. When a TV joined the household both the playroom and the living room were rearranged, then I got the new lamp for the Fatboy in the reading corner (Fatboy RIP – this morning there was a tear and knowing me the repair process just might never happen).
We have been hunting a new sofa (or preferably sofa bed but they all seem so ugly) for a few months now. Last month I almost bought one already, but then got a bit doubtful again…As the poor little kids get to watch every now and then the TV and sit on the floor, I thought the least I could do is to bring the chaise down – on a good day it takes all three little kids – or at least two. So here we go – the new setup for September.
For those who still wonder why we live in such an empty house – we moved from Europe a while back and the furniture still hasn’t made it here. As I already have a few sofas I am hesitant to get more – I am very much missing my white and cream leather Natuzzi sofas and LC-style armchairs, as well as dark brown L-shaped comfy sectional sofa with chaise that could easily have the whole family of five nap in it….
And if you are wondering what is the current theme of the house it would be sweetly described as colurful with nothing costing much over $200 by far and things what the kids couldn’t easily break and destroy (they are pretty well behaving but I got three us visitng friends!) The lovely Fatboy did cost more and now it’s broken – so I might have to write it off as a cute, but bad investment. On second thought maybe it’s good that the design furniture is still in the storage until the twins grow a bit older!
Chaise has arrived in the sofa-less living room – note that Fatboy has had to retire for the moment from the reading corner
The owners piano is still in the living room. The additional function of the chaise is to serve as a jumping launch pad…
The dining corner as the dining room still is used as a playroom. I have plans for the area and all the accessories are already in the garage waiting…
Miss C. claimed to love sitting in the chair by the door – this is where “stuff” is piled up upon arrival at home. Can’t wait for the new burlap footstool to arrive and claim this important “first impressions” position
The “travelling whiteboard” has been used daily for business and fun time. As it was too big I could not attach it to cover the fireplace – therefore it sometimes travels to upstairs depending on the occassion (note that it’s 6ftx4ft and a pain to carry in the stairs…)
The other half of the “emergency chairs” has not moved to upstairs where the chaise used to be. They were bought as an emergency the past Christmas as we had visitors coming and only one chair to sit on. I was shopping for food in the world market and somehow managed to stuff these two chairs in the car too. It was a very Christmassy green colour too!
