the glass house – a must visit place this fall in connecticut
Oh, how I wish I had a reason to make a trip to Connecticut this fall, but it is such a long trip from California. Destination? On top of my list would definitely be The Pure Glass House Tour to the iconic Philip Johnson Glass House in New Canaan. This property was opened to the public in 2007 and is part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
There is so much to see, and the tour options are endless from one-hour introduction tour of the main house, curated landscapes (the grounds total 47 acres) to private tours and dinner options.
The amazing vision and architectural journey of Philip Johnson can be seen in the many buildings and artistic structures on the site, and add to it the amazing grounds and the fall foliage it sounds like a perfect day, with or without kids (although I think that little kids might restrict the duration one can stay in a place like this). I wonder what other places could be added to the list to make the perfect first-time short vacation to Connecticut?
