purple in the modern kitchen

This modern kitchen has a lovely and really functional look: and I love the fact that there are lots of drawers instead of those standard shelf models (think of stacked pots and plastic containers falling out every time the doors are opened). It seems to have become quite fashionable recently not to have upper units in the kitchen at all.

I have also noticed that I have somehow grown to like bold and more unusual colours in kitchens (our friends have a new pink and grey one and it looks pretty cool too) – and this purple one combined with metallic appliances and white counter tops is rather hip and funky. I am not so sure about the aquamarine splash back tiling though – I would have chosen something more contrasting such as metallic or black tiles instead.

There is also another cool feature – a little wine cooling storage system. It must be the lovely wine tasting of Spanish wines we did in the wine store next door earlier this week, as I really feeling like getting one. I just wish that I had a place to put this storage into – although it is going to have to stay in the garage due to lack of space in the kitchen area…
