nature-inspired pteleobius lamp

This is Pteleobius lamp. Pteleobius apparently belongs to bark beetle family, and these little beetles are known to eat the wood under the bark thus creating unique and beautiful patterns that have been used as a model for this lamp.

Designer Vaslyaev Maxim used elm in his creations and the outcome is quite exceptional – a modern steel lamp design combined with natural wood creates this soft twilight glow. A sculpture at day and source of soft light at night.
