modern open-plan living in black and white

This open-plan living area is a great example of how modern decor can still look cozy rather than half-empty. I like the way they have switched the more common dark floor-white ceiling concept around and used dark wood panelling in the ceiling and large, white stone slabs on the floors.

The use of grouped pendant lights is also a clever way to create natural room dividers in the open space. One can easily identify the kitchen, dining area and the living room space here. At the same time the space has continuity as they have used the same colour scale everywhere, and what looks like furniture from the same designer also. A really lovely modern space altogether!
