learning topiary in house of anaïs 2
Here we go down the memory lane with the House of Anaïs no 2. I love spending time in the garden, but quite often don’t have the greatest skill set to create my ideal garden visions. Here’s one pretty easy one that I though made a nice enhancement in the garden.
The patio area in the second House of Anaïs was missing lights (previous owners dug the lights out and took them as I didn’t want to pay an extra $1000 or so for lights I could not even recall having seen during our visit, so they certainly were not modern in style), the cone shaped topiary was outgrown and the square-shaped planters had tons of ants and weeds.
Shaping topiary was a lot of fun, but quite time-consuming (I would recommend an electric trimmer as it has so much more power than cordless ones) as was digging weeds. I found these lovely modern light poles in the corners and used weed fabric underneath the white gravel. The most expensive part in this little project was the electrician, but the overall cost was still less than half of what the original lights would have cost us.
