it’s not curious friday, but i have just passed the self-driving car…

Living a couple of miles from Google headquarters sort of gets one used to seeing the Google street view cars and other things all the time. But today i was stretching my neck to peek in as I passed the Google self-driving car on the highway for the first time. When I saw it from the back I was wondering what on earth was whirring around on the roof as it looked like some sort of chimney.

Then I spotted the text “Google” followed by “self-driving car”… There was a driver too, and apparently when the car crashed in the past it wasn’t because of the seld-driving system, but because of the “manual” driver inside! If I was “driving” this sort of car my hands would probably be hovering above the steering wheel all the time just in case anyway… weird but interesting to see new technology like this being developed!
