happy birthday house of anaïs!

Today it’s been a year since I started writing this blog, and it’s been a lot of fun. I am also happy that House of Anaïs has received over 220 000 visits in that time period, so thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts! I was hoping that I could be able to celebrate this special day in a nice wine tasting event today, but couldn’t find a babysitter, so I will be sipping some bubbly at home instead – and enjoying pizza and cinnamon sticks with the kids. That shows things don’t always go as planned, but it’s been a ncie evening anway…Luckily there is a girls night out coming soon, so it’ll be a belated birthday bast of sorts!

To honor this grand day I made a quick lunchtime Swedish tour with a friend (which of course had to be completed with portion of meatballs, mash, gravy and coffee – one just can’t complain when that meal is delivered with a $2.99 price tag) and grabbed an area rug to help that horribly bare kitchen cum dining area. What an improvement I say, but bare is still the theme in this house, except in the kiddie rooms where the theme is closer to more is… well more.

I’ll be posting tomorrow also a giveaway to celebrate this great milestone, and I am also working on putting together some of my favourite daily room inspiration photos, houses and other posts that were well liked during the year so stay tuned.

Birthday rug!

new look

Just adding one rug made a huge difference to this room and livened it up!

Swedish meatballs

This is no Michelin star meal – then again the price tag is not $200, but $2.99 with endless coffee refills

giveaway theme is beachy

The celebration giveaway will feature this cute pair of seaside themed decorative pillow covers from Pottery Barn, since that is one of my favourite themes (and would definitely be the central theme in our household if we ever got a beach house….)
