halloween is over – time for christmas shopping
I had two giant surprised on this trip to Finland when it comes to festivities – first Halloween seems to have entered the country on full force, and secondly Christmas preparation are under way. Traditionally people used to decorate their trees on the morning of the Christmas Eve (Dec 24th) and even the advertising season only started in early December. But clearly no more! I wonder if soon they will celebrate Thanksgiving and Diwali too as they seem to come up with new festivities all the time…
Anyway, I took advantage of the upcoming season and did some shopping of my own – as I happened to come across a few Finnish stores I really like. Here are some nice finds from Pentik, a company with a rather country-romantic style. As I am travelling with just a tiny carry-on, which needs to fit grandparents presents for the kids too I only had space for something small and cute…
Reindeer horn-crystal chandelier – this would be perfect for a little lakeside cottage!
Strictly not Christmassy, but I loved these grey and fuchsia pillows and table runner (behind the bed)
Continuing with the grey theme – wool blend graphite pillowcase (Typical Finnish colours for Christmas include grey and red)
Cute rustic wreaths
This was such a cozy corner – I ended up getting this red printed runner
My new runner and cute little rustic ornaments
