Even the name Saracen sounds beautiful and the house itself does not let down the expectations created by its name. Saracen is lovely old country estate in England and currently on the market. Oh how I love beautiful houses, and especially those with some history and interesting backgrounds.

The current owners of this house bought it in 1998 for a total of £700 k ($1.1M), when it had been split into two homes. The gracefully restored the house and spent a whopping £600 k ($970 K) in creating the elaborate gardens of two acres littlw by little over five years. And the end result is just magnificent!

As the children of the owners are now grown up (and the house totals nearly 10000sq ft – or 900m2), they are looking to downsize a bit. The asking price for this estate is £4.5 m ($7.3M) – so they are also looking to make a nice little profit on their home.

Where did the manage to find such impressive high-backed chairs?

This is my favourite image – the hallway looks like from an old castle, and the effect with the clock at the end of the hallway makes me think of a French country home. Very chic.
