cantilevered and amphibious dutch houses
I got a couple of comments few days ago about the cantilevered houses in Netherlands, and got inspired to showcase some more beautiful modern houses from that region. There is also another specialty style that is setting foot in Netherlands – the floating amphibious houses. This development style came out of the necessity to be prepared for floods and other changes impacting sea level since most of the country is below the sea level.
I don’t know if I would like to live myself in a floating house – somehow I like the idea to have dry land and a basement underneath!

And I just couldn’t resist adding this amazing image in – it is not located in Netherlands but in China. This is the Netherlands Pavillion in China and consists of 26 cantilevered houses off two walkways.

The houses are fine example of amphibious houses by Waterstudio.NL who seem to somewhat specialise on this kind of buildings.
