bel air mismatch
This house is interesting – first it’s being offered at $16M+ by one agent and nearly $19M+ by another – wonder which agent I would choose if I was on the market for the house…
The exterior of the house is lovely, but the interior is such a mismatch. Maybe this has just been staged for the sale (clue empty bookshelves in the library). If that is the case the staging person has no sense of style and placement, as few rooms look plain empty and half-finished.
At first sight the interior seems a bit like Spanish colonial style with arches and tiled floors and some beams too. But then there are the various ceilings – the beehive look, the more modernist squared one, faux beams and some plain ceiling too. Why, I wonder as the house was built in 2007 – so it’s not like some old English country houses which were extended over time thus resulting in similar style mismatches.
Then again, at 14000sq ft (1300m2) maybe the house has themed wings or floors? The other factor (which cannot be changed) about the house is the lack of the proper grounds. A huge house like this on just 0.85 acres seems like a crime to mee – where are the flower gardens, lavender fields, even tennis court… Once you add the swimming pool(s) and the multi-car garage not much is left there.
Love the way this house looks – very relaxing looks
Beautful floor and double height atrium
The ceiling makes me think of a beehive. Do I hear buzzing…? If this is really dining room these people have no friends. Are they seriously saying that with 14000 sq ft you only have six people for dinner – I would have expected a table for 20 or so. Even out little house has a table for 8 and if needed it fits few more too…
Like the symmetrical design of this ceiling and those dark (walnut?) floorboards
Interesting, but I bet the mirror surface is hard to keep clean. Do I spot silver linings on the toilet seat?
I love libraries (even more so with books). This rooms looks really soft, made for readings if there was something to read…
This isn’t even minimalist – the table is crying for help. Fresh flowers, accessories – and a rug would help too
Bit too white this white-cabinets-on-white-marble combination, but I love the size of this island – it really is more like a continent 😉
Bit boring, but with right accessories and better placements this could be pretty nice room. Oh, and maybe change the curtains too!
Hello modern classic pieces. Lovely large room, but so empty. Rugs, paintings, console tables…
And now we love animals on the floor. This reminds me of a reindeer skin- but paired with a classic chaise??
Really – a bathroom? Maybe in a luxury hotel. Bigger is not always better. And it’s a long walk from the bathtub to the shower too.
