seeking for that snowy mountain top of mt. rainier

Sometimes things don’t go as planned, but there can be other great surprises in reserve. Just like when we wanted to visit Mount Rainier in Washington State. Yes, it’s November and the mountain goes over the 14000 ft point, so the plan was never to hike on the glacier, but rather to catch a glimpse of this beautiful mountain and the park surrounding it.

I guess we were lucky to get a peek of the peak from the plane, as the weather (rainy, foggy and eventually snowy) did not let us see much at all – and eventually the road was even closed at the park due to heavy snowfall. But coming from warm California the ride to the park was beautiful with foliage and the ever-changing nature, and we got to experience something else so beautiful – a thick snowfall when surrounded by cute log cabins in the national park. It felt like Christmas and it was definitely such a sweet and romantic moment that we will remember it for a long time!
