moroccan dreams…in texas
I could not believe my eyes when I saw this house for sale in Texas. Built in 2005 and being nearly 20000 sq ft (1850 m2), it must be the finest Moroccan-style house outside Morocco! And considering that the house has only 8 bedrooms, the rooms are pretty huge too. I have seen before some rather special houses in Texas and just wonder what is so special about that area…?
The asking price feels almost cheap compared to what the prices are in California – as this $8.9 M (£5.4 m) certainly gives you a lot of square footage in the main house, a couple of guest houses in 3.8 acres – and the reassurance that there is no other similar house in the whole country!
Personally this house would be a bit OTT for me, but I do love the hallway and the carved door in the last photo – it looks simpler and more classic. I have actually seen something similar recently in England in a house that was for sale (it was a beautiful home and I could not believe there was a planning permission granted to demolish this old house!).
