down the memory lane to gran canaria
Organising paper photos is a lot of work, but so is maintaining the digital libraries too. This is what we are currently doing and I have come across all sweet old memories again. Like these from the island of Gran Canaria in Spain, off the coast of North-west Africa.
These islands are especially a winter getaway for Europeans as there is a mild 70F or so (20c+) climate in the wintertime and it’s not as far as Caribbean and other warm destinations. Oddly, I had no pictures of beaches from this trip, but even more sore of volcanic rocks and other sceneries (have I mentioned that I used to study towards a master’s in geology and used to collect rocks and minerals all the time as a kid…). So here are mu little snaps from a little Canary Island winter getaway.
Yellow submarine tours
Canaries are known for their bananas
I love the rugged look of these volcanic islands
Cute little streets and lots of beautiful flowers
The picture I didn’t take (but enjoyed going there a lot!)- miles and miles of sandy beaches, great for a morning jog also!
