a must-do in the summer time

There are few things that belong to the Finnish summer, and summer theatre is one of them (or some other similar cultural event outdoors – even if it rains). Every summer I take miss A. to see a play (next year also the twins I think) and this year it was Pippi Longstocking.

The location is a beautiful one – on one of the seven hills surrounding the old city of Turku (there are great views over the city, including the some 700-year-old stone church clock-tower). Pippi was a sold-out success and we both enjoyed it a lot and will look forward to coming back next year!

Enjoying the scenery before the show – we had some freshly baked buns and pastries for the 2+ hour show

Pretty history

Pretty old buildings – this 100+ year-old little thing houses some electrical outlet

WW2 memorials

Some remainders of the WW2 also on this hill
